Trade collections

Oglarstvo

One of the fundamental missions of Tržič Museum is to collect and exhibit material connected with local artisanship, trade and industry. In Tržič, which obtained market rights in 1492 and town rights in 1926, leather-making, shoe-making, weaving, indigo-printing, sock-making, iron-making, dressmaking, wheel-making and charcoal-burning were all very well developed. And there were also other trades which allowed people to earn a living. The museum keeps objects, documents and photographs which bear witness to the trades in Tržič.
